We are getting a lot of e-mails about how stressed out many of you are with the escalation from 𝐂𝐎𝐕𝐈𝐃-𝟏𝟗 and are asking what to do.
We know that the uncertainty right now can definitely increase your anxiety and stress levels.
Know that our bodies are not meant to live in “𝐟𝐢𝐠𝐡𝐭, 𝐟𝐥𝐢𝐠𝐡𝐭, 𝐨𝐫 𝐟𝐫𝐞𝐞𝐳𝐞” and on high alert 24/7.
So today, we are going to give you the first step to hit your body’s 𝐑𝐄𝐒𝐄𝐓 button which will allow your 𝐚𝐦𝐲𝐠𝐝𝐚𝐥𝐚 𝐭𝐨 𝐫𝐞𝐥𝐞𝐚𝐬𝐞 the tension that has been storing up in your body.
𝐒𝐭𝐞𝐩 𝟏 – 𝐁𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐭𝐡𝐞 (𝘺𝘦𝘴 𝘪𝘵’𝘴 𝘵𝘩𝘢𝘵 𝘴𝘪𝘮𝘱𝘭𝘦 BUT not always easy)
𝐅𝐨𝐜𝐮𝐬𝐢𝐧𝐠 on breath resets your sense of self.
=>It brings you back to your center.
=>It helps you to focus on the simple act of breathing in and out so that you can practice mindfulness.
=>When you focus on breath, you focus on where you are at in the present moment.
=>Present moment practices allow you to quiet and calm your mind.
Without the focus on the breath, this is not easy to achieve.
Sit in a comfortable place – I sit in my recliner.
No pretzel woo-woo stuff for this gal!
𝐓𝐚𝐤𝐞 𝐚 𝐝𝐞𝐞𝐩 𝐛𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐭𝐡 𝐢𝐧, envision all good things you want to create.
𝐀𝐬 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐛𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐨𝐮𝐭, picture all the negativity leaving your body and making way for the next light breath.
You may feel like you should force your breath into some pattern but that’s not necessary.
𝐈𝐭’𝐬 𝐛𝐞𝐬𝐭 𝐣𝐮𝐬𝐭 𝐭𝐨 𝐟𝐞𝐞𝐥 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐞𝐱𝐩𝐞𝐫𝐢𝐞𝐧𝐜𝐞 𝐲𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐛𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐭𝐡.
As you begin to relax, your breathing will naturally slow down and regulate on its own.
Try not to judge yourself for not doing it ‘right.’
Eliminate the thinking that you have to control or channel your breath, just keep observing and allowing.
𝐒𝐢𝐦𝐩𝐥𝐲 𝐥𝐞𝐭 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐛𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐭𝐡 𝐛𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐲𝐨𝐮.
Our recommendation is to start with 1 minutes – yep, if you can do it a bit longer, it doesn’t take that much to hit the 𝐑𝐄𝐒𝐄𝐓 button.
From someone who suffered from debilitating anxiety attacks, I can share with you that I have not had one in over 18 years because I learned to stop and take that breath. ❤️🤗
